Video of the new place

Video of our new place from when we moved in. I'm not much of a narrator, unfortunately:

And a little bonus video from our road trip of an invention that was long overdue:

Basketball is finally almost back

We finally got internet at the apartment yesterday, so hopefully I can get back to posting more here, especially photos from our move and stuff like that.

In the meantime, big news today in the NBA is that Shawn Marion wants out of Phoenix. TrueHoop mentioned that the Lakers seem like a possible destination because Marion's friends with Kobe.

Long and I tooled around a bit with the Trade Machine, and it turns out the Lakers, who can build a package around Lamar Odom, seem to have the most to offer Phoenix at this late juncture:

Marion and Marcus Banks for Odom, Mo Evans, Ronny Turiaf, and Sasha Vujacic.

The Suns finally dump Banks's contract and they get Odom + 3 role players who could all work in their system. Evans brings perimeter D; Turiaf hits the glass; and Vujacic assume the "James Jones Memorial" spot-up shooter role. Plus, everyone except Odom is in the final year of their contract, so they become cap relief if they don't work out.

The Lakers, meanwhile, can talk themselves into Banks as a decent back up PG, and they get to keep the coveted (for whatever reason) Andrew Bynum.

And for the record, I think it's bad business that Phoenix ever let it come to this with such an amazing player as Marion, even if he is a head case.

Connectivity lost

cutest cat in town, originally uploaded by Mr. Wright.

For some reason I can only get internet at home through my Wii. So there's something at least entertaining in this space until I get it all worked out, enjoy some Spoon the Cat pictures that I can post from work super-quick. This one's still my favorite.

The emails I get

San Francisco is hectic as can be, so in the meantime check out this email that randomly showed up in my inbox. Apparently I joined a frat:
Hey Guys! I hope everyone's semester is going well! I know there are a lot of parties on the go and a lot of beer being drank so keep up the good work!! I'm glad you guys are drinking but if you guys know you have a party on the go for the weekend try and stock up on your beer before 3:00 on Friday afternoon. It is much easier for me and you guys if you can pick beer up at Labatt Customer Service. I know Fitz's has cold beer but basically what is happening is that everyone is calling me between 5:00 and 7:00 on Friday and we're basically drinking ALL of Fitz's beer. While this is seen
as a good thing by most, it is important that Fitz has enough product to sell to the general public. So just to recap, if you guys can stock up on beer it would be greatly appreciated.

Also guys, tonight at the breezeway (Saturday, September 8) Labatt presents UFC World Light Heavyweight Championship, Jackson vs. Henderson. This is a Labatt exclusive night which means Labatt will be the only beer products available for sale. There are going to be a few giveaways and 120oz (The Big Ones) Keiths Jugs are available for $21.60. Guys, it's important that we have a good turnout from each residence. I apologize for the late notice but from here on out Saturday nights at the Breezeway are Labatt nights so be sure to pop over and check it out and I will be posting signage and sending you a calendar of events to inform you of what's coming up.

Cheers!
Wade
Or, no, I guess I work for Labatt? There's no way I can figure out how this meshes with the other emails that I keep getting mistakenly from a gay guy in New York, who apparently throws killer parties, such as
Subject: Keeping In Touch! Whoopie Goldberg-Phylicia Rashad stops by my summer house.

Whoopie hosted the annual benefit, The Fire Island Dance Festival, on Sat. July 21st. I was the only one who was so fortunate to be allowed in the house and to speak with her after the benefit before she was sneaked out the side of the host house. I asked her if there was anything new and exciting coming up in the future. She told me she could be hosting a show but would not let me know which show. I asked her if she might be co-hosting on ABC's daytime show The View. She looked at me with a surprised face.........

I promised not to mention this news to anyone until one day after it was officially announced.

On Sunday July 22nd Phylicia Rashad hosted the 2nd day of the benefit. Phylicia Rashad is best known for her role on The Cosby Show as Bill Cosby's wife, Ms. Huxtable. Phylicia stopped by my summer beach house and said hello. She was also with Broadway superstar Michael McElroy.

Enjoy the pics....

A lot of Matt Wrights in the world, I guess, with a lot of varied interests.

And we have connectivity

GB promo shot, originally uploaded by Mr. Wright.

Currently stealing a wireless connection from our new apartment in S.F. The trip was long, but great. Pictures coming soon. For now, all I've had time to do is touch up this promo shot I did for G.B. before I left town. This right before we got kicked out of the Blanton for being big, bad copyright art rebels. Rock on.
